Dear Family and Friends,
Hello from snowy Austria! We have now been back a little over a month and wanted to give you a quick update and some prayer requests. We are still waiting on two very important things, our visas and our baby. Both of which we promise to tell you about as soon as we have news! We hope we will find out about our visas soon, but know that it could take months until we hear anything. Our baby, on the other hand, is due this coming week and we know that within the next two weeks we will have news of his arrival!
It has been good to get back into the swing of ministry at the Oasis. There are many new faces and a couple of familiar ones too. Refugees from Afghanistan and Chechnya are still making up the largest groups coming through the camp and the Oasis. Please pray we will be able to get to know those who are new to Austria.
Last Tuesday at our team meeting we had a new experience. The whole meeting was done in German. This summer we will have a Swiss couple joining our team and the husband only knows very basic English, so the team has decided to change to speaking German at meetings when they come. This week was a practice run because our soon to be new teammate, Christian, was visiting. Dan and I will really have to work on our very basic German, because while we understood enough, we were very quiet during the meeting. It will be a good challenge in the months to come.
This coming Tuesday we will be adding another person to the Oasis team. There is a guy named Aaron who is coming to join us for the next 6 months. He is an American and recently finished college. We are looking forward to having him around! At the beginning of January 2008, there were two men and five women on the team. After next week there are going to be five men and six women, not including the many local volunteers who come each week to help out with the different weekly programs. God has heard the prayers of the Oasis and is adding to the number of workers! It is especially exciting to see men being called because it is essential to the demographics of the groups of people with which we are working.
God is doing exciting things in our midst. Please continue to pray for the hearts of the refugees coming through the Oasis. Pray that they will come to know the love and salvation of Jesus. Pray also for the Oasis staff, especially those who have been here serving sacrificially for many years, that they would be encouraged and renewed. We are so blessed to have each of you in our lives. Thank you for all of your love, encouragement, and support!
Love,
Dan and Regan
Prayer Requests:

- Visas
- Safe travels for Regan's mom as she leaves today to come visit for a month
