Today is World Refugee Day. It’s a day to raise awareness about refugees throughout the world.
We ask that you take a moment to pray for the 42 million uprooted people around the world today. Pray for them, pray for their countries, and pray for their futures. Pray that they will find their hope in Jesus Christ.
This past Wednesday we celebrated World Refugee Day at the Oasis. For the past few years, this has been a special day at the Oasis to celebrate refugees and to let them know how much we care about them. It is a time for them to learn how God has a deep love for them and wants to give them hope in all circumstances.
On this night we had a speaker from Iran who had come through the Oasis as a refugee. He is now a believer and was able to give encouragement to the many Persian speakers in attendance. We’re thankful to have someone come who was once a refugee himself and can easily relate to the struggles and experiences these people are now going through.
The Oasis was packed with people from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Serbia, Kosovo and Liberia for this celebration. In addition to the talk, we had music, a video, open faced sandwiches, coffee, tea, and a bag of fruit as they were leaving. Following the program, it was a good time to speak with and hang out with many people.
We are thankful for a good program and the opportunity to celebrate the refugees we have come to know at the Oasis.
If you would like more information on the Oasis, you can visit the newly completed website at http://oasis.iteams.org/. We hope this is a good resource for you to learn more about what goes on at the Oasis as well as with refugees in Austria. Our website also has some additional resources on it to learn more about refugees.
Thank you for your continued support of us and the Oasis ministry as we share about Christ’s love with so many. We hope you have a wonderful day!
In Christ,
Dan and Regan
